ABOUT

The Woodland Trust is the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity, managing over 1000 woods across the UK with over 100 in Wales alone. The Woodland Trust is dedicated to creating a world in which woodlands thrive for both people and nature. That dedication can be derived from their aims to protect existing woodlands, restore degrading woodlands, and create new woodlands all together. This digital campaign focuses on their Ancient Tree Inventory (ATI) which is a project that relies on the people to map any historical and ecologically important trees in the UK. Since 2006 the Wildlife Trust has managed to map over 233,000 ancient trees with this project however they estimate that this likely less than 10% of the UK’s ancient trees, as such this digital campaign aims to motivate people to discover and record ancient trees, share stories about them, and advocate for their protection.
